In keeping with a assertion issued with the aid of the Federal Board of revenue (FBR) on Tuesday, upon receipt of credible information, Inland revenue Squad of Enforcement network (IREN) of RTO Rawalpindi confiscated rankings of non-responsibility paid cartons of cigarettes worth millions of rupees in two distinct raids.
Within the first incident, IREN Squad intercepted a truck on GT Street in Sohawa District, Jhelum, and sporting non-duty paid 70 cartons (70,000 sticks) of neighborhood emblem cigarettes.
The unlawful inventory of cigarettes involving tax evasion of about Rs 1.9 million was confiscated and transferred to a warehouse in Jhelum as no documents/invoices had been produced to establish that the cigarettes had been obligation paid.
In a separate incident, 06 cartons (60.000 sticks) of non-duty paid cigarettes of different neighborhood brands have been confiscated from a nearby dealer in Dina market and the same were shifted to FBR warehouse in Jhelum District.
